Students make blankets for Project Linus.
The students of Waterford Adventist School made 10 fleece blankets to donate to Project Linus. The kids enjoyed making these blankets and they really liked the idea that they were helping other kids. The students did a wonderful job and the blankets they made will be greatly appreciated by the 10 children that receive them. There were several volenteers who helped the kids with the blankets.
Project Linus is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization with a two-fold mission:
First, it is their mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."
Second, it is their mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
Students visit Clarkston Specialty Healthcare Center
On Thursday, January 18, the students visited the Clarkston Specialty Healthcare Center in Clarkston, Michigan. The students sang several songs to the residents there. They then visited Anna Polasek, member of the Waterford Riverside Seventh-day Adventist Church. The students really enjoyed singing and sharing their faith. Thank you to Gloria Wickman for setting up our Bible Labs projects.
